Kathmandu Pokhara and Chitwan 9 Days Tour Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival Kathmandu
After arrival in Kathmandu International airport, meet our officer. He will assist you to transfer your hotel. At hotel our officer gives you orientation of the overall tours. Rest of the day is free as per the arrival schedule

Kathmandu City: Kasthamandap, the source of the name Kathmandu means ‘made from the timber of a single tree’. Also known as Kantipur, the capital Kathmandu is the hub of Nepal's art and culture. Kathmandu, the Capital city of Nepal and city of temples and monasteries, here you can feast your eyes on the rich and colorful historical places, temples and respectful area. It is a place for rest, relaxation and easy-day sightseeing of historic and artistic temples and monuments. Kathmandu Durbar Square with its arrays of temples and the ancient palace of the former Nepali Royals enriches your experience of the centuries old civilization.

After the sightseeing tour of Durbar Square you will ride a rickshaw for 20 minutes to Thamel.
Thamel: Travelers and the locals consider it a tourist haven. Its filled with narrow streets, all lined with budget hotels, travel agencies, small shops selling everything from food and provisions to clothes, carpets, walking gears, music CDs, DVDs, handicrafts, paintings which makes it an ideal place for souvenir shopping. Day 02: Kathmandu
Commence on a tour of Pashupatinath, Boudhnath and Patan after breakfast.
Pashupatinath is Nepal’s sacred and an ancient Hindu shrine and one of the one of the greatest Shiva sites. Pashupatinath, beside the holy Bagmati River, is the holiest place in Nepal, located on five kilometers north-east of Kathmandu Valley. Pashupatinath, an ancient plinth, by the banks of the holy Bagmati River, stands the 16th century of Pashupatinath - Shiva, as Lord of all Creatures. The temple serves as the seat of the Hindu deity, Lord Pashupatinath. Pashupatinath temple area is on UNESCO World Heritage Sites list. Only Hindus were allowed to enter the temple. It is believed that sex organ of Shiva fell to Nepal. The main temple of Pashpatinath contains a lingam of Pashupati which has four faces sculptured on it. In Hindu culture it is believed that bathing into the holy river releases from the cycle of rebirth. So Hindu people bath into the holy Bagmati river daily.

Boudhanath Stupa: Boudhanath also known as Boudha. Boudhanath is a stupa is located about eleven kilomers from the main city of Kathmandu valley. Boudhanath stupa is one of the largest Buddhist stupa in the world. Boudhanath has been an important place of pilgrimage and meditation for Tibetan Buddhists & local Nepali people. In 1979, Boudhanath became a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Along with Swoyambhunath stupa Boudhanath stupa is one of the most famous tourist site in Kathmandu Valley. There are at least 29 Tibetan Gompas around Boudhanath. As a daily ritual, many people walk three or more times around the stupa while repeating the mantra 'Om Mani Padme Hum' either quietly or aloud so that Boudhanath stupa is a fascinating & very spiritual area in Kathmandu valley. Lalitpur City: Lalitpur city historically known as city of fine art. Located about 5 km south of Kathmandu. Patan is one of 3 royal cities in the valley. Patan Darbar Square located in Lalitpur city Patan Darbar Square is attractive pagoda temples. Listed as a World Heritage Site

Patan Darbar Square encloses Pagodas, Shikhara and octagonal temples. Patan city is huge collection of finest workmanship on its Newari and Buddhist monuments. Patan Darbar Square is the most impressive Durbar - square on the valley because of Beautiful stone baths, repose images of river sprites, great golden audience windows, 14th century terra-cotta temples and 17th century stone ones. A terra-cotta shikara temple, each brick bearing an image of the Buddha. Patan Darbar Square is the the medieval royal palace. Day 03: Kathmandu - Pokhara ( 200 Kms / 6 hours)
After breakfast, departure to Pokhara. On the way, visit Manakamana Temple by cable. After Darshan lunch at Cable car base station and proceed to Pokhara. Arrive Pokhara and check in to hotel with welcome drinks. Dinner and over night stay at hotel.

Day 04: Pokhara Valley Sightseeing
After breakfast commence on a sightseeing tour of Pokhara.
Pokhara is a place of remarkable natural beauty. The serenity of Phewa Lake and the magnificence of the fish tail summit rising behind it create an ambiance of peace and magic. At an elevation lower than Kathmandu, it has much more tropical feel to it, a fact well appreciated by the beautiful diversity of flowers which prosper in it’s environ. Indeed, the valley surrounding Pokhara is home to thick forest, gushing rivers, emerald lakes and of course, the views of world famous Himalayas. The serenity of the lakes and the magnificence of the Himalayas rising behind them create an ambience of peace and magic.

Devi's fall: Locally known as Patale Chhango (Hell's Fall), Devi's fall (also known as Devin's or David's) is an awesome waterfall lying about 2 km south-west of Pokhara airport on the highway to Tansen. An interesting modern legend says that a foreigner named David was skinny dipping in the Pardi Khola (river) when the floodgates of the dam were opened, sweeping him into an underground passage beneath the fall, never to be seen again.

Tibetan Village: Tibetan Village Tashiling lies just off the Devi’s fall in the south, which is inhabited by the Tibetan people who keeps themselves busy by producing and trading woolen carpets and other handicrafts. Seti River Gorge: It is carved by Seti River and is one of the natural wonders of Pokhara. KI Singh Bridge at the Bagar, Mahendra Pool & Prithivi Highway Bridge near Bus Park provides a perfect view of the river's dreadful rush and the deep gorge made by the turbulent flow of white water like milk. Mahendra Cave: Mahendra Cave lies north of the Pokhara valley. It is a large limestone cave, which is one of the few stalagmite stalactite caves found in Nepal. Buffet lunch at Garden Zone of Fishtail Lodge.

Phewa Lake: Spend a quite time boating in the ultimate lake where the reflections of Mount Annapurna and Macchpuchhre range falls. You will also see a variety of fishes while boating. An island temple is located at the middle of the lake. Thick forest lies on the adjoining southern slopes of the lake. It’s hard to escape the draw of Phewa Lake and any visitor with even a few spare minutes should endeavor to take a boat out on the water to fully experience the wonderful views of the reflected mountains. Dinner and over night stay at hotel.

Day 05: Pokhara - Chitwan ( 145 Kms / 5 hours) After breakfast, departure to Chitwan National Park. Arrive Chitwan and check in to the hotel with welcome drink. Chitwan National Park is the popular and demanded wildlife century in Nepal like an elephant ride and jungle safari. Dinner and over nights stay at hotel.

Day 06: Full Day Chitwan Jungle Activities
After breakfast start Chitwan Jungle activities, elephant ride takes you around the jungle for an hour and half and You can visit full of wildlife including one horned Rhinoceros. Jeep safaris are also very popular they take you around for four hours. A great way to spot wildlife in areas further inside the Park. Activities into the forest of National Park like an encounter with wild animals remain in memory for lifetimelike. Canoeing on Rapti River, Visit Elephant breeding center,. Dinner followed by Tharu culture dance and over night stay at hotel.

Day 07: Chitwan - Kathmandu( 165 Kms / 6 hours)
After breakfast, departure to Kathmandu, arrive Kathmandu and check into the hotel. Rest of the day is free for shopping and rest. Dinner and over night stay at hotel.

Day 08: Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing
After breakfast, start Kathmandu valley sightseeing including; Pashupatinath Temple, Bouddhanath Stupa, Buddhanilkantha Temple, Swayambhunath Stupa and Patan Durbar Square. Rest of the day is for shopping.
Over night stay at hotel.

Day 09: Departure
Today After breakfast at hotel our officer will come to meet you at your hotel for Transfer to airport to connect onward destination
